	Brand identity (strategy, visual identity, copywriting and illustration) for bombo café, a bomboloni café in Guangzhou, China, opened in Summer 2024. The brand identity brings a fresh, playful touch to its French pastry roots. Drawing from the owner’s Le Cordon Bleu expertise, the design features an elegant wordmark paired with illustrations of a bomboloni character, blending French sophistication with a lighthearted, approachable vibe.

For the RISD Graphic Design Speaker Series (Spring 2025), I developed a cohesive visual brand identity that communicates the dynamic and diverse perspectives offered by this year’s distinguished visiting designers.
 

My responsibilities included creating a distinctive visual brand identity—encompassing typography, color, graphic treatments, and adaptable layouts—across various promotional media. I also produced engaging motion graphics to announce events, introduce guest speakers, and extend the visual identity into dynamic social media assets to enhance audience engagement and visibility.

With extensive writing and an intimate interview with a friend, this chapter discusses the concept of progressive nostalgia— an emotional state that anticipates feeling nostalgic for moments still unfolding in the present.Read more

An accordion book printed on clear film, in the dimension of the intimate format of a diary. Each spread repeats a photograph of a place alongside a diary entry, but with every turn of the page, specific details are progressively erased, leaving the composition increasingly incomplete. A thin layer of gradient color that appears negligible on its own but becomes opaque in layers, reflects how nostalgia colors memory, simultaneously amplifying certain sentiments while obscuring others. 
By the end of the book, the original image and entry has disappeared entirely, replaced by the gradient and a single lingering question: where is that place again?

The design emphasizes NCL’s values by a visual sense of togetherness, celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and community.&#38;nbsp;

A speculative rebrand of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. A custom geometric grid-based typeface is created as part of the brand's visual identity, stretching in and out responsively like the pulse of music and energetic moving bodies in the music festival. The primary color scheme is adaptive to work with any colored photography. The limited but inclusive color palette evokes primal instincts and pleasures of enjoying music and hints at the inclusivity of Coachella's artists, genres, forms of arts, and cultures.Read more
